Check out some achievements during the “Smile” era

Released in August 2020, the album “Smile” marks the return of Katy Perry with a new album after 3 years. However, the “Smile” era had already started in May 2019, with the summer hit “Never Really Over”.

With that, Katy was already getting good results from an album that was about to be released.

“Never Really Over” reached #1 on Billboard Pop Songs and debuted at #15 on the Billboard Hot 100, being her best chart position since “Chained To The Rhythm” in 2017. The song is the biggest streaming launch of Katy’s musical career, and is currently GOLD certified in United States, and is already eligible to receive 2x Platinum.

With “Never Really Over”, Perry also had good results on Spotify. The single stayed for 195 days in the Top 200 of Spotify Global, becoming Katy’s 4th song with the longest duration, in addition to becoming Katy’s biggest hit on Spotify Canada.

On iTunes, the song reached Top #2 in the United States and #1 on iTunes Worldwide, in addition to being #1 in more than 35 countries.

After a few months, “Harleys In Hawaii” was released. The song is to this day Katy’s biggest debut on iTunes US, debuting directly at #26, however, it was unavailable for sale for a few hours, reaching only #6.

In May 2020, Katy Perry officially released the lead single from the album “Smile”, the single “Daisies”.

The song reached #1 on iTunes US, becoming Katy’s first song to reach the top of the chart since 2016. “Daisies” debuted at #40 on Billboard Hot 100 and entered on the Top 10 of Billboard Adult Pop Songs, making Katy join list of the 5 artists with the most entries in the Top 10 of this chart.

The song won the Song Of The Year at UMI Yearlies Awards 2020.

In August 2020, the album “Smile” was finally released. The album debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200 and currently has nearly 2 billion streams combined. “Smile” has also sold 1.25 million adjusted albums.
